How It Works
During laser hair removal treatment, light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft. Effective laser hair removal occurs when the melanin in the hair shaft heats up from the laser and the heat is conducted to the growth cells and root causing thermal damage. This thermal necrosis destroys the growth cells and impedes future growth while sparing surrounding tissue.
BLEND X technology is used to power the SPLENDOR X laser device. With this powerful, fast and versatile device, treatment provider synchronizes Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths to customize treatment options for patients with different skin and hair type combinations for the most effective treatment. Zimmer cooling ensures a comfortable near painless treatment.
What is the treatment like?
Laser hair removal treatment with the Splendor X is near painless given combination with Zimmer cooling during treatment unlike many other devices. After treatment, you may experience temporary, mild discomfort such as redness and slight irritation, and or hyper/hypopigmentation as standard with any laser hair removal.
Are there any side effects?
Possible laser hair removal side effects include:
- Mild swelling around the hair follicles
- Pigment changes may occur, especially in those with darker skin – these changes are usually temporary
- Slight redness of the skin
- Temporary irritation resulting in blistering, crusting, scarring or other changes in skin texture
how many treatments will I need?
You will need to be treated approximately six times with 4-6 weeks between treatments. This is because there are three phases of hair growth – Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. Only the hairs in the growth phase, Anagen, can be successfully treated.
